Montpelier House Project

NJ Landscape design, an award winning Landscape architect, was given a challenging, split level site to design a beautiful garden in a constricted, residential area, with unique features (see the blue arrow in the image) that had to be detailed in order to inspire the most creative design for the client.

Project Scope

NTB Survey was commissioned to produce a topographic survey that detailed all of the major features of the site to allow a concept design to be produced.

What We Did

On arrival, our land surveyor greeted the client and walked the site, identifying the unique features and highlighting any hazards that were faced, given that some construction work had already been started.

Using out TS16, our surveyor detailed the features on site, including the archways beneath the road, observing spring and head heights and the depths so that these features could then be incorporated into the design.

Upon completion of the fieldwork, the data was then processed using LSS and drafted in AutoCAD before the deliverables being released to the client.

After the initial survey had been completed, we then undertook the same process a year later to capture further details and facilitate the design of a bigger scheme.

CHALLENGES FACED & DELIVERABLES

A close site, split upon multiple levels with a high level of detail led to some interesting data capture challenges, along with the presentation of the results, to ensure that the survey was readable and could be utilised to the full as part of the design.

We Delivered:

A topographic survey was delivered in 2D PDF format

Topographic survey also delivered in 3D DWG format

PDF Hover-Zoom + Smooth Pan (Fixed Zoom Level)

Feedback & life after working with us

Both NJ Landscapes & the private client were delighted in the level of detail we were able to capture.

This allowed Nicola to create the design that met the brief of her client, making everyone happy and demonstrates the value NTB Survey gives to every scheme we work on.
